about - morgan spiller
Head designer, Morgan Spiller, understands small businesses from an
owner’s point of view. Having grown up in a household where
both parents owned their own businesses, she has the advantage
of understanding what small businesses need and what their
obstacles may be.
Morgan graduated UC Santa Cruz in 2003 with a BA in Costume Design. She also attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, graduating in 2005 with a degree in Product Development. Both degrees helped establish her sense of design and developed her creativity. After graduating, she worked as a business analyst in the corporate offices of the retail store, Mervyn’s. Her time spent working for Mervyn's gave her a deeper understanding of the marketing, technology and budgeting guidelines used in corporate retail.
After deciding to break from corporate retail, she looked for a way to combine her love of design with her knowledge of the retail industry. Working for her family’s clothing store opened her eyes to the need for simple, accessible web and print design focused on small businesses. As her visions grew, she began to develop a varied client base and, one & eight designs was born.
